The Black List and the Writers Guild Initiative are thrilled to announce Brady James Pierce as the 2024 Fellow for the Michael Collyer Memorial Fellowship in Screenwriting!
Pierce hails from Dallas, and is currently based in Los Angeles. In 2023, he graduated summa cum laude from New York University. Beyond the screen, he also enjoys writing television and musical theater.
“I’m grateful to have been chosen for the Michael Collyer Fellowship. It means a lot to be supported as a writer, and I’m excited to get to work and further sharpen myself,” said Pierce.
“We congratulate Brady on receiving the Michael Collyer Memorial Fellowship and look forward to seeing where this journey takes him,” said Kate Hagen, Black List SVP. “And we can’t wait to read the script he writes as a part of this fellowship!”
“I’m so impressed with Brady’s talent and grasp of the screenwriting form, and am excited to work with him,” added screenwriter Chris Kyle, who will mentor Brady during his Collyer fellowship year.
The Michael Collyer Memorial Fellowship in Screenwriting is a one-year fellowship that is awarded to an emerging screenwriter who intends to pursue a career in screenwriting. The winner receives a $10,000 stipend to write an original screenplay and is mentored during the course of the fellowship year by a prominent screenwriter. This program, now in its 16th year, is a partnership between the Writers Guild Initiative and the King Family Foundation, and this is its eighth year being hosted on blcklst.com.
Submissions for the 2025 Michael Collyer Memorial Fellowship will open later this year, exclusively on blcklst.com.
